SCG-SET-06-009 10 May 2006 To: The President The Stock Exchange of Thailand Re: To notify the 20% increase of earning from operating Regarding to the substantial increase of the net income amount of 72.85 million Baht or 218.20 %, from the same period of the previous year as indicated in the submitted interim financial statement, the company hereby clarify that such high variance of the net income was the result of the low net income of 33.38 million Baht in the previous year which affected by the major overhaul of the steam turbine generator. The 15 days shutdown maintenance of the steam turbine generator during January-February 2005 significantly reduced the earning as follows 1. Maintenance Expenses In comparing with the normal operation and maintenance cost during the first three month period 2006 the cost in 2005 was 27.40 million Baht higher due to the major overhaul expenses . 2. Energy Sales and Production Cost During the major overhaul period the energy production was limited and the fuel consumption rate of the electricity generation significantly increased. In comparing with the normal production in 2006 the energy sales in the first quarter 2005 was 32.35 megawatt-hour lower at 6.81% higher in fuel consumption rate.
